Virginia-based photographer Jim Stroup is a graduate of the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography.  Jim has more than 30 years of experience in landscape, environmental portraiture, photo illustration and conceptual photography. Stroup takes a hands-on approach to all aspects of the image – from the initial brainstorming and pre-visualization, to planning and the digital processing of the final image. He shoots assignments for resort, corporate, and institutional clients. Jim has travelled extensively throughout the world and is widely published.

Jim Stroup is the senior photographer for Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. He has been recognized with numerous awards from professional and industry organizations. He has been named the “Photographer of the Year” by the University Photographers Association of America (UPAA), is the only multiple winner of their year-long image competition (he’s won it four years in a row), and has won “Best in Show” in their annual print competition.
